A few weeks ago, I came across an instructional video for Art Tatum style pentatonic runs. While I was familiar with the sound, it wasn’t something I’d ever really practiced. After I learned the basic run, I put together a little left hand to go with it, and have since been playing through it in all the keys. I took a moment to write it out because I’ve got a few students who are almost ready for an exercise like this. The PDF is below, and I’ll record a video of it once I get past the craziness of being a musician during Holy Week.
